A rebel imprisoned for political reasons will have to face an unusual opportunity offered by his jailer.

Manuel travels to the small fishing village where his recently deceased wife, Paula, spent her childhood. There he meets Rosa, the owner of a restaurant; Héctor, whom he entrusts with rebuilding his wife's dilapidated family home; Toto, a colorful and helpful fisherman who was Paula's schoolmate; and Julia, a young architect who lost her daughter shortly after birth, and with her all hope of happiness.
