
Giulio Donato
Directing
Giulio Donato was born in Rome in 1993 and started working in 2013 as an assistant director and then as first assistant director, casting and producer on more than 60 film sets (features, documentaries, commercials, video clips and fashion) in Italy, Norway, Brazil, Germany and Mexico, with directors such as Abel Ferrara, Asia Argento, Giada Colagrande, Mimmo Calopresti, Gennaro Nunziante, Roberta Torre, Gianni Zanasi and Claudio Caligari. He wrote and directed four short fiction films that were selected in various Italian and international film festivals. In 2022, he started working on his debut feature entitled ‘LABIRINTI’, produced by Life Cinema and winner of the last session of the Mic (Italian Ministery of Culture) Selective Grants, Young Authors section. The film was presented in 2024 at the 81st Venice Film Festival as a special Venice Days screening in the Confrontations section.
