Sam Wanamaker (June 14, 1919 – December 18, 1993 an American film director and actor, and is credited as the person most responsible for the modern recreation of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London. He is father to actress Zoë Wanamaker. He is known for his roles in the films Death on the Nile (1978), Private Benjamin (1989), and Baby Boom (1987).
